Description: In partnership with the ZooShare and the Toronto Zoo, EnerFORGE is working to develop a renewable biogas digester that will use animal and food waste, provided partially by the Toronto Zoo, to offset nearly one third of the zoo’s electricity demand. This first of its kind project in Canada, has received $2.7 million in funding from the federal government’s Low Carbon Economy Fund, and will provide 500 kW of capacity upon completion in late 2020.
